| January NewsJanuary still finds us shivering in our boots at Spitting Pig Central. The snow has almost melted but everywhere looks grey and unloved. There are new shoots on the trees but no sign of snow drops or daffodils poking their way through. For the team at Spitting Pig Central it is a time of anticipation before the new season starts.Weddings are in the air with January always a busy month for bookings and securing the date of choice. Some Saturdays are always immensely popular so make sure you get the ball rolling if you have set your heart on a Pig Roast on your wedding day. Our thinking caps are on with regard to new and innovative canapés, new ideas for salads, new desserts and starters. All our events and parties are individual and as such we like to have a chat with prospective customers to find out their expectations. Our initial quotation is hopefully a starting point for creating your own bespoke occasion.January is also our month for servicing all our equipment, repairs and the ordering of new kit. We have to top up the china and cutlery, replace gazebos, tablecloths etc. so that we are ready for the rush that will take over our lives from about March! Extra kit will require extra shelving and so it goes on! Our depot is due to be painted and a complete spring clean is to take place which will necessitate some warmer weather as the equipment will have to be temporarily housed elsewhere. George is on the look out for a new van to add to the current fleet. This is to be used mostly for our machine hires which are a popular part of our business. The machines are easy to operate for even a complete novice and great fun for a party or gathering. Everyone loves to barbecue and this just takes things to a bigger level!!Talking of barbecues two new ones are on order to add to our current complement. Requests for barbecues go from strength to strength and although it will never surpass the pig roast in popularity it is an important part of our business. Lots of different meats can be accommodated from, sausages to venison, steaks to spare ribs. For a real meat fest with lots of choice book Spitting Pig Central for your next barbie. Christmas presents were plentiful this year one of which was a pig shaped casserole found on the internet which will probably take pride of place filled with apple sauce on one of our serving tables! Perhaps the best present of all was the arrival of a new Springer spaniel puppy named Millie who is already proving very obedient and fingers crossed is house trained - long may it last!Although most of the staff have taken a long holiday there should be time to fit in a weekend away early in the year. Places visited have been all around the globe from South Africa, Thailand, Vienna, Prague and numerous others. So with a bit of luck the next news in January might be from somewhere a little warmer.
